We work with individuals and organisations to answer questions and resolve problems that relate to disability and access. We also work with organisations to embed disability equality into all aspects of their strategic planning and performance.

Reasonable Accommodation Hotline advice and support service

We provide a Reasonable Accommodation Hotline advice and support service to employers, service providers and individuals.

Employers and service providers are required by law* to provide “Reasonable Accommodation” to a person with a disability. In practical terms this means providing individual supports to enable a person with a disability to access and participate in all aspects of employment and services. The legislation applies to all types of organisations in the public and private sector including health and educational services.

The problem is that requests for reasonable accommodation come from individuals therefore there is an infinite range of potential requests requiring a response. In addition there is a requirement to ensure responses are efficient, effective and equitable.

The reasonable accommodation hot line provides a fast and expert response to any query an organisation or an individual may have in relation to a request for reasonable accommodation.

This service also includes expert advice and support in how to access financial supports for employers of people with disabilities and individual employees with an illness, injury or disability, including the Employee Job Retention Grant.

Disability and Access; Strategic Planning and Performance

We help organisations to embed good practice in relation to disability access across all aspects of their work.

We carry out an access audit that includes access to services and information. Results and recommendations will inform the development of a plan that includes actions, costings and a prioritised schedule of works.
