Disability Equality Training
We are a registered Disability Awareness training organisation with Fas. Private sector companies can be reimbursed for up to 90% of costs of Disability Awareness training under the Fas administered Disability Awareness Training Support Scheme.
Webster Lawlor and Associates support the Guidelines for Purchasers of Disability Equality Training developed by the National Disability Authority.

How is the training programme developed?
We will meet with you to discuss your specific training needs and how these fit into your wider business plan. Following our meeting we will develop an outline training programme for your consideration. Further refinements may be made based on your feedback and we will then submit to you a detailed training programme and timetable for your approval.
Basic Disability Equality Training Programme - 1 day workshop
Content is tailored to the need of the client but will typically include:
- History of the roles attributed to Persons with Disability
- Disability, Equality and Inclusion
- Models of Disability and particularly medical vs. Social model
- Legislative Context to include Equality Legislation
- Implications of adopting social model on organisation as an employer and / or service provider on planning, policies, procedures, decision making and actions, e.g. service delivery
Advanced Disability Equality Programmes
We offer advanced programmes to organisations that have completed basic training in a number of areas. These can be tailored to meet specific needs but may include:
- The role of the Access/ Disability Liason Officer
- Developing an holistic equality/ access plan
- Reasonable accommodation; developing practice policies and procedures
- Job Retention for acquired disability
- In depth training on issues specific to one or more disability groups e.g. providing accessible information, customer care for specific target groups, e.g. person with visual impairment
